Save Arthur Chi'en
Call CBS! Email them! Spread the word! This web-page was made in great haste. Combined with the fact that I have little to no creative talent, I'm a programmer not a web-designer, and that I am one of the world's worst typists, I guarantee you it will be littered with errors and typos. This isn't a blog or anything of the sorts, just something that pissed me off and I felt I had to say something somewhere, so I just put up this quick page. Let's be honest; a 7 year old with a crayon and a shopping bag could have made a much better looking webpage, but it's the message that counts! Please, if you agree with anything I say here, don't just do it, EMAIL THIS WEBPAGE TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW! Spread the word, and be heard for what you believe is right! Oh and here are some links to some real journalists trying to do something about this: http://www.buzzmachine.com/archives/2005_05_28.html#009753 http://www.nytimes.com/2005/05/27/nyregion/27nyc.html? p.s. Reading these two posts really embarasses me. It shows how horribly I write. How I actually get by on a daily basis I will never know. |

Warning, might contain some liberal, left-leaning ramblings:
Look, I don't know about the rest of you, but I for one am just getting a little sick and tired of this sudden turn of prudishness and conservatism we seem to be going through. Don't get me wrong, I don't think we should be grabbing our crotches as we walk down the street, nor spitting on the sidewalks as if this were the wild wild west. In fact, I do believe that we should watch our language, on TV and in person. Actually, for the past two years I have made a serious effort to stop cursing, period. That was a personal decision made by me, for me. I don't preach it to others, nor do I get offended when other people curse to me, or in front of me. Actually, as a sidenote, once I realized I had stopped cursing, I thought of trying to stop being cynical and sarcastic. But then I feared that if I was successful, I would have no personality left. Truth is. I still slip up once in a while. But when I do, I don't turn around and flog myself in public. Accident's can and will happen! This is all Janet Jackson's fault. Not a big deal to me mind you, but she went and pushed the boundaries (although I believe she still claims it was an accident) and now we're all paying for it because this country is turning into something far more Puritan than anything I have ever seen in my life time. But that's for another rant. What Arthur Chi'en did was an accident. He didn't intentionally bare his breast catching everyone off guard. Nor did he look into the camera and start doing his impression of Andrew Dice Clay! He didn't fake news documents, nor fake evidence of WMD's in Iraq resulting in the deaths of over 100,000 people. It was an accident! Actually an accident is when you slip. This was more of being "pushed", as he was harassed by the guys behind him. We can discuss their Class/IQ some other time. So when an accident of such a minor infraction occurs, you fine the person involved, you suspend him, etc. etc. Unless of course your CBS, where you just go and fire a guy for a slip up. And that's it. Am glad "Everyody Loves Raymond" is over, one less reason to tune into CBS. Write to CBS, call them, flood their phone lines, tell them this in unacceptable behavior for an intelligent, and advanced society. I personally think this trend of prudishness has gone too far. If you agree, it's up to you to do something about it! And if you agree, it is your moral obligation to speak up and be heard. Sincerely, Sergio D. Caplan |
